European Inventor Award

The European Patent Office annually honors individuals with the European Inventor Award for their outstanding inventions contributing to technological progress, economic growth, shaping society, and improving daily life.

VOK DAMS has a longstanding tradition of managing this prominent event, starting from 2007, at various European locations: Munich, Ljubljana, Prague, Budapest, Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Berlin, Lisbon, Venice, Paris, Madrid, Vienna and Valencia. In 2024, Malta joined the prestigious list of host venues for the ceremony, adding to its successful tradition. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the awards ceremony transitioned into a publicly accessible digital event in six languages, with thousands of people participating live.

The award is presented in five categories: Industry, SMEs (Small and Medium-sized Enterprises), Research, Non-European Countries, and Lifetime Achievement. Since 2014, a Popular Prize has also been awarded based on online voting by the public.

The entertainment program of the EIA also plays a special role every year and contributes to enriching the experience for esteemed guests and media, including prominent figures like Princess Beatrix of the Netherlands.

For numerous years, the team from VOK DAMS in Munich has been known for creative event concepts that make the European Inventor Award ceremony a unique and unforgettable event.
