VOK DAMS China Supports Audi Exhibition at Beijing Design Week
The Beijing Design Week (BJDW) is an annual citywide event co-hosted by National Ministries and the Municipal Government of Beijing and held every year during China’s National holiday in Beijing. BJDW has become an A-class international design event and one of the largest and most influential platform in Asia for promotion and trading of creative designs. Every year, more than 5 million visitors, 2,000 designers, institution representatives, industry experts attend this trend-setting design event.
From September 23 to October 7, Audi presented the "Design and Functionality" exhibition which displayed Audi’s pioneering automobile design featured by the principles clarity, precision elegance and high-quality workmanship. The exhibition served as an invitation for designers of different backgrounds to explore trends including the challenges born by the opposing poles of functionality and design.
All tasks associated with the Audi Exhibition’s concept, design, media and giveaway production as well as the local implementation of the exhibition space were handled by the VOK DAMS Beijing team led by Katja Sassi-Bucsit, General Manager VOK DAMS China.
VOK DAMS recruited a total of 10 designers from various design disciplines ranging from graphic design, architecture, motion design, interactive design, sculptures, furniture design, photography and fashion. Furthermore, a series of workshops with a strong focus on exchange and mutual inspiration between the Audi Industrial Designers from the Conceptual Design Studio Munich and local designers from Beijing was organised.
The project provides profound insights into the conceptual, creative and operational competence of the VOK DAMS China portfolio.
