VOK DAMS China kicks-off CSR program 2015
For years, sustainability and social responsibility have been of particular importance to VOK DAMS, one of the global leaders for events and live-marketing. Be it consulting for sustainable events, implementing carbon neutral events or joining the UN Global Compact – the agency always provided fresh impetus to the events industry in these and other matters.
This does not only apply to the offices in Germany, but all over the world. And thus, VOK DAMS China kicks-off a new CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) program.
This starts with a cooperation with the “Bread of Life” bakery. Bread of Life was initiated to help young handicapped and orphaned adults gain a foothold in life. A dedicated team soon turned specialists bakers after intensive training and study of Western bakery products. And with its mix of perseverance and an enticing menu Bread of Life managed to establish itself as a sought-after bakery in the expat community. Currently four young handicapped women manage the affairs of the Bread of Life bakery, consistently refining the recipes for cookies, muffins, homemade bread and other Western delicacies.
After a first Cookies-for-Christmas promotion, VOK DAMS China plans to make this a fixed element in their yearly schedule and will also order all birthday cakes at Bread of Life.
Katja Sassi-Bucsit, general Manager VOK DAMS China, explains this as follows “We life and work in a country where a lot needs to be done. We feel that we belong here, that we are a part of the society here and we want to give something back. Bread of Life has developed an innovative and clever model, which gives a chance to young people. We fully support this.”
