VOK DAMS produces digital Congress for Germany’s federal state Baden Württemberg on sustainable economic activity
VOK DAMS created the first digital Resource Efficiency and Recycling Congress for Germany’s federal state Baden-Württemberg (KONGRESS BW) and the State Agency for Environmental Technology.
In 2020, the state government initiated the 9th CONGRESS BW - this year for the first time digitally. The KONGRESS BW is the leading platform for information, innovation and transformation in the field of resource efficiency and circular economy, organized by the Baden-Württemberg State Agency for Environmental Technology. Winfried Kretschmann, Minister President of the State of Baden-Württemberg since 2011, has set himself the goal of renewing the state ecologically and socially. With this year's congress, he wanted to inspire and motivate with very concrete ideas leading to sustainable management. "The aim is to develop sustainable solutions for decoupling economic growth from resource consumption and climate change.”, Kretschmann has stated.
Two packed days saw the 1,500 participants from politics, business and science experience current trends, concrete practical examples, lively discussions, stimulating lectures and a great networking atmosphere. From home offices, kitchen tables and garden sheds all over the world, the guests could follow inspiring live keynotes in the plenum, detailed observations in parallel forums, interactive innovation development in special sessions and special awards. The highlights were the live keynotes from the broadcasting studio of Messe Stuttgart, featuring among others, Minister President Winfried Kretschmann, Environment Minister Franz Untersteller and Economics Minister Nicole Hoffmeister-Kraut.
At the same time, start-ups from the GreenTech sector, business representatives and industry mentors came together at the KONGRESS LAB. Digital whiteboards were used to further develop innovative business ideas utilizing design thinking methods. At the end of the event, the start-ups presented their respective business ideas in a short pitch to the congress participants. The participants voted for their favorites using a voting tool integrated in the platform and consequently selected a winner.
